In Finnish

Auno Siikaluoma

It seems that you have found your way to my homepages. I want to welcome you. Sit back, relax and enjoy. There will be lots of interesting things coming… The punchline of my webpages is ‘My Passion: Chess!”. Let me start with an example from the very top of Correspondence Chess, namely the World Championship, in which I have been qualified to participate. The story by so far the only Finnish World Champion of Correspondence Chess can be found here.

My World Championship final as well as all my other Correspondence Chess games are played on ICCF server. You can find the server in the menu of my web page, ICCF. Remote Chess, Server Chess or Correspondence Chess (as I call it) is played on numerous servers on the Internet. However, ICCF is the official worldwide organisation which arranges World Championship tournaments and grants the players their titles.

However, a man’s life cannot just revolve around one passion. You also have to exercise and take care of your health. If you are interested in that part of my life, you can take a look at the Exercise page on the menu.

As you browse through these pages, you’ll soon find out that in these pages I’ve collected ‘the highlights’ and the most important events in my life. There will also be more articles about that World Champion final in the future. I will also analyse my best games here (hoping that there will be many of them!). So, the focus of my pages is on chess, the hobby with which I have spent almost 50 years of my life. If you want to know how chess is played and even improve at it, you might want to click on the ‘Grandmaster tab’ on the menu.

Of course, a chessman can’t live a day without a daily chess-puzzle. Through this link  you’ll find your way to my own puzzles which are updated daily.
